My readers know that I believe in universal music. I believe that landmasses, borders, hatred, religion cannot be barrier to music. Music is universal. It is diverse yet it possesses the power to unite the masses. Music give us mental peace. It acts as a spiritual guide in stressful times.
Today, I am going to discuss a few words on the Sufi genre of music. Sufi music is the devotional music of the Sufis, inspired by the works of Sufi poets like Rumi, Hafiz, Amir Khushrow, Khwaja Ghulam Farid. This music genre preaches that by following the spiritual path and sacrificing materialistic pleasures, one can definitely attain mental peace and enlightenment. It also preaches that music acts like a tonic in a depressed and hateful life, a sweet one obviously. Sufism also preaches religious equality, tolerance and mercy.
Its origin are from India. The land of sages and scholars. The land of science and religion. There are numerous famous Sufi singers. Lalan Fakir, is one of the most famous singer of this genre. Nushrat Fateh Ali Khan, the famous poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, are some others.

Sufi music is also gaining attention in the west. I am providing a Sufi song for reference. Hope you people will like it. In this world full of sins, hate, terror, if we can take out time and listen to some Sufi songs; believe my friend, you will find peace.

Spirituality, tranquility and universal equality is the objective of Sufism. Through the hymns, it promotes thy. It is also a nice way of expressing love as well as sorrow.
Stay happy, stay peaceful.

India's great statesman, scientist, patriot Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam died on 27th July this month. We mourn his death. He gave us, the depressed Indians a new hope, a new vision and a new weapon that is the wepon of education and knowledge. He did everything possible for India. He was truly, the Peoples President. He lived a very simple life. He saw and bear hardness in his childhood. Yet he never gave up and education was his sole target.

He gave India's science and research a new hope. He turned science into fashion and molded it with passion. From Rohini launch till Pokhran, APJ was India's most precious mind. A new era started in India with him becoming the President. He was the only President whose public rating was even higher than the Prime Minister of India. He inspired the youths to dream and to dare. He ignited minds of millions of youths and set the vision and the mission for a developed India.

His sudden death has shocked the whole world. He died in a developing India. His only dream was India, to be a developed country. We the youth will fulfill our beloved Dr. Kalam's dream. Oh Vendor of Dreams! we surely will change the scenario of this great motherland. May your soul rest in peace and you guide us for millennium. The vision which you had will be fulfilled. A beautiful shyama sangeet by Anuradha Paudwal.
Album: Maa go Aanondomoyee.
Composer: Shekhar Sen.
Shyama Sangeet  is a genre of Bengali devotional songs dedicated to the Hindu goddess Shyama or Kali which is a form of supreme universal mother-goddess Durga or parvati. It is also known as Shaktagiti or Durgastuti.[1]
Shyama Sangeet appeals to the common man because it is a musical representation of the relationship of eternal and sublime love and care between the mother and her child. It is free of the common rituals of worship and also the esoteric practice of the Tantra.
During the 12th-13th centuries when Shaktism grew in Bengal, it inspired a number of poets to compose poems on Kali. Mukundarāma, known as Kavikaṅkaṇ or 'gem of poets, ' wrote his chief poem, the epic Chaṇḍī, in 1589. Towards the middle of the 18th century, the poet Ramprasad Sen instilled new life into it and turned it into a distinct genre of Bengali songs.
Ramprasad was succeeded by number of composers like Kamlakanta Bhattacharya (1772–1821), Rasikchandra Ray (1820–1893), Ramchandra Datta (1861–1899), and Nilakantha Mukhopadhyaya. In modern times both Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam have composed poems of Shyama Sangeet genre.
Enjoy it.
